Designed for persons who have been put in a position with Safety and Health Management
responsibilities but have little or no training in these disciplines.
INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY and Heritage Group Safety have partnered to offer Safety and Industrial Hygiene
Management Certificate Programs that cover basic requirements in both fields and offers
Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) through Indiana State University (ISU). To gain
certification, successful candidates will have successfully completed 100 hours of
classroom instruction. Most classes are held in Indianapolis and meet for 10 hours over
two days in each quarter. Special classes are held at other times.
Both Certificates require a base of required courses, with electives courses available to choose from.
Students can interchange several classes between the Safety Management and Industrial Hygiene Management
Programs. Students may also earn Certification in both disciplines, as classes will be offered each
quarter for both programs. See the Certificate Outlines and Class Schedules for more information.
Costs for the program are as follows: $185 for each session (10 hrs.), plus $20 for ISU CEUs.
That’s $820 for 4 quarterly sessions, or one year. Pay in advance and save. Pay $738 for 4 quarterly
sessions when you pay in advance. Textbooks are required. Textbooks are typically $100-$200 each.
Special class sessions, which usually run 8 hours, are priced individually on the class schedules.
